Another week, a new set of Donald Trump proposition betting odds. If you were with us last week you’ll recall that we’re considering going back to a monthly update format with the Trump prop odds plus updates ‘as needed’. The market has cooled dramatically in Europe with little variety at most books other than the general ‘Will Trump finish his first term?’ proposition. The weekly updates will continue to the end of the month and the situation will be reassessed.
There are some interesting subplots going on–the ongoing effort to end Obamacare, the White House wiretapping situation and a semi-testy visit with German Chancellor Andrea Merkel. You’ll recall that former President Obama ordered the wiretapping of Merkel’s cellphone according to allegations by Der Spiegel magazine. Trump make reference to that and depending on who is doing the reporting her reaction was either ‘bemused’ (according to the European media) or ‘disapproving (according to the United States media). There’s some interesting ‘grist for the mill’ but so far few if any sportsbooks are doing anything with it in terms of propositions. It could be that now Trump isn’t the ‘cash cow‘ he was a couple of months ago that they’re going to be done with the US Presidential props. There is much more interest in the many elections all over the world during the next year or so, particularly the contentious French Presidential Election.
