‘Big Brother’ Season 19 Week 10 Betting Odds
–CBS has renewed the long running ‘Big Brother’ reality show for a 19th and 20th season.
–’Big Brother’ is a spin-off of a Dutch TV series of the same name.
–’Big Brother’ airs Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday on CBS TV.
Mark Jansen got ‘the hook’ on ‘Big Brother’ last week and now there are just 8 contestants remaining. His elimination was a mild surprise, at least based on my odds for the show as I expected him to hang on for a few more weeks and finish either fifth or sixth. The action will continue to heat up on a very entertaining ‘Big Brother’ season this week and with another elimination show set for Thursday it’ll get us down to just 7 contestants remaining.
You could see the ‘Big Brother’ producers try to do something to enhance the lurid drama of their show this week as their ratings were down slightly last week. On one hand, you can make a case taht it’s not enough for them to worry about. On the other hand, in the brutally competitive TV market of today every fraction of a point is important. Thursday’s show did a 1.7 rating which is the lowest for any Sunday/Wednesday/Thursday show since the first week of the season. The viewership of 6.03 million was down almost a half million from the previous week (450,000 to be exact). There’s at least a reason for the downtick as a number of CBS affiliates pre-empted ‘Big Brother’ to broadcast preseason games for their local NFL team. That explanation will likely keep ‘the suits’ happy but even with the NFL preseason game issue no one can be happy to see what was originally reported as a 1.8 rating, 8 share and 6.44 million viewer count downgraded so significantly.
