‘Survivor: Ghost Island’ Episode Ten Betting Odds

Libby Vincek was eliminated in Episode Nine and at +250 she was our favorite to be eliminated. That brings the field down to eleven contestants one week after the tribal merger. Libby was one of the more attractive women on the show and as such it will be sad to see her go. Usually, I try to come up with some post mortem commentary from the eliminated contestants but Libby is reportedly working as a model in London right now and unavailable for the typical media rounds from an eliminated contestant.
The gross food challenge returned this week. Maybe I’m just a freak but I’ve never understood why this is so difficult for people. Here’s a recap of the Episode 9 food challenge from the AVClub:
Awwwww yeah! The gross food challenge is back, baby! Fish eyes are first. Wendell bails. Chelsea yorks hers up. Six move on to the beetle larva. Michael, Seabass, and Angela move on. Sea slugs! Michael gets it down. Angela swallows one whole and eventually gets the other down. Last round is the mother of pearl. I dunno, it’s gross. Angela does a little shimmy as she downs it all and wins immunity. Michael finishes his portion anyway, because you only play Survivor once.
Wendell Holland really embarrassed himself to the point that Jeff Probst was ashamed of him:
The challenge’s big loser was Wendell, who lurched away from his fish eye like it was electrified and earned derisive dismissal from Probst. Coming after an episode in which Wendell became every Survivor fan’s new favorite player, this performance might have knocked him back to the field a bit. You’re starving to death on an island (even if you just won a taco challenge) and you’re offered piles of protein? Eat the protein! Come on, Wendell!
Angela Perkins on the other hand came out on top and according to The Hollywood Reporter showed the pluck and grit of a Lifetime Network movie heroine:
Angela was the literal and symbolic winner of the challenge. She danced and strutted and fist-pumped her way to immunity and, in the process, actually looked alive and competitive and threatening for the first time. I’d say Angela exhibited the eye of the tiger but it was, of course, actually the eye of some sort of unnamed fish. One of several women in the competition determined to restart their lives, Angela has spent most of the season both in a majority, but still left out of negotiations. The Angela we witnessed on Wednesday, though, might have the will to simply outlast her fellow castaways and that’s part of the slogan of the show.
