‘Big Brother’ Season 19 Week 12 Betting Odds
–CBS has renewed the long running ‘Big Brother’ reality show for a 19th and 20th season.
–’Big Brother’ is a spin-off of a Dutch TV series of the same name.
–’Big Brother’ airs Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday on CBS TV.
Just like that we’re down to five contestants on Season 19 of ‘Big Brother’ as the September 7 show saw two eliminations for the price of one. Our top choice for eviction got sent packing as Jason Dent was eliminated (he was +125). Later in the show our third choice for elimination was shown the door as Raven Walton was voted out.
‘Big Brother’ host Julie Chen cracked back on suggestions of ‘bullying’ and ‘bad behavior’ during Season 19. For some reason, there are those ringing their hands about the way the contestants have been interacting this season but Chen thinks it’s not a valid criticism and it’s just part of the game. For her part, she dismisses any suggestion of actual bullying or abusive treatment on the show:
“I think there are summers in the past where the behavior has been worse. Part of the game is that we don’t interfere with what’s happening. Anyone who we feel like is getting bullied, they don’t necessarily feel like it; they’re just living Big Brother. If they’re in the Diary Room saying, ‘I can’t take it, this is abuse,’ that’s a different thing. No one has come forward and said that.”
Chen made the very valid point that what viewers see on screen is not necessarily the way things really are:
“We also see after a day a lot of self-correction; there’s so much activity in the house that things always settle down. Sometimes when I’ve interviewed evicted houseguests about x, y, and z they’re like, ‘Oh no, we were kidding, we’re good. I’m going to be best friends with these people.’ So sometimes it’s us making a bigger deal not knowing what it’s like to be in that person’s shoes. It’s Big Brother.”
‘CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER’ ANNOUNCED
The other big news revealed during Week 11 was an announcement of the first ever US version of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’. The first season of the spin-off will begin in Winter 2018 and as of yet no celebrities have been attached to the project. They’ve had ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in the UK now and some of the celebrities featured have been Pamela Anderson, Gary Busey, Stephen Baldwin, Perez Hilton, Ivana Trump, and MTV’s Spencer and Heidi Pratt. In other words, we’re not talking about ‘A Listers’. Or as Julie Chen puts it: “It’s not going to be all Oscar winners.”
The schedule for the final few episodes of ‘Big Brother’is a little screwy–there’s a new show scheduled for Friday, September 15 and no show scheduled for Sunday, September 17. The Finale will air on Wednesday, September 20.
