‘Dancing with the Stars’ Season 24 Episode 6 Betting Odds

–Erika Jayne was eliminated in the fifth episode which aired on Monday, April 17.

–’Dancing With The Stars Episode 6 airs on Monday, April 24 at 8:00 PM Eastern.

The ‘Dancing With The Stars’ field has been reduced to eight following the Week 5 dismissal of singer/reality TV star Erika Jayne. She entered the show as one of three contestants facing elimination including a couple of surprises: Nick Viall and Normani Kordei. Viall and Kordei took care of business and turned in solid performances. Erika Jayne’s dance wasn’t embarrassing but that wasn’t enough to stave off elimination.

Erika Jayne was a +650 choice to be eliminated in Week 5 behind Bonner Bolton, Nick Viall and ‘No One’. Heading into the week Bolton and Viall both had lower average scores than Erika Jayne but both survived to fight another week. The highest score went to Normani Kordei (39) as the +350 third choice among betting interests. David Ross had the lowest score (29)–that was something of a surprise relative to the betting odds (+1250) and due to the fact that he’d been turning in solid, though unspectacular, performances. Five ’10’ scores were awarded which enabled the ‘5-9’ prop to cash at +450. Top to bottom, it was a good week for the underdogs.

This is where the competition starts to get serious. The contestants with the top five average scores are separated by a combined 1.8 percentage points. There is a definite separation between the ‘lead pack’ and the bottom three of David Ross, Bonner Bolton and Nick Viall. Viall has turned in a pair of solid performances over the last two weeks. As noted above, Ross has been consistent and that might keep him in the contest for a couple more weeks. By process of elimination, it makes Bolton the most likely to be eliminated.

Simone Biles remains the favorite to win ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 24 but another strong performance by Normani Kordei has changed her price again this week. Biles is +175 to win after Week 5 with Kordei at +250. The price order of the betting entries has remained the same though the prices have changed. Nancy Kerrigan’s moved to a +750 choice to win from +1750 last week. David Ross has dropped from +1250 to +2750 to reflect the higher competitive level of the shorter field. As noted above, there’s a clear line of demarcation between the ‘contenders’ at the top of the field and the ‘also rans’. Barring anything unforeseen this spread between top and bottom is likely to grow over the next two weeks.
