‘Top Chef Colorado’– Episode 3 Betting Odds
–’Top Chef Colorado’ is the title of the 15th season of the ‘Top Chef’ franchise.
–The finale of ‘Top Chef Colorado’ was filmed in Aspen during the Food and Wine Classic.
–Episode 3 of ‘Top Chef Colorado’ will air on December 21, 2017 at 10:00 PM Eastern on Bravo
Episode 2 of ‘Top Chef Colorado’ is in the books and self described witch Claudette Zepeda-Wilkins was the elimination for the week. She was among our three way co-favorites in the ‘next to be eliminated’ market at +500. The other two chefs atop the ‘next to be eliminated’ table were Tanya Holland and Carrie Baird though they were very solid in Episode 2. Baird was the winner of the elimination challenge and Holland was top five. Also in the top five Laura Cole (our +600 co-favorite to win Season 15 as of Episode 2) and so much for the gender disparity noted in week one. Christopher Scott and Fatima Ali rounded out the top five. In addition to the aforementioned elimination of Claudette Zepeda-Wilkins the bottom three were Adrienne Cheatham, Rogelio Garcia, and Tyler Anderson.
I’m going to start tracking ‘Top Chef’ power ratings and see if they tell us anything. I’ll adapt the same format that I used for ‘Project Runway’ this season giving points for ‘High’ finishes in the elimination challenge and subtracting points for ‘Low’ finishes. It worked reasonably well for ‘Project Runway’ until the finale and was particularly effective in revealing ‘false favorites’. It might not be quite as accurate for ‘Top Chef’ due to the absence of a weekly challenge ‘runner up’ for both the winner and the elimination ‘victim’. I debated giving more emphasis to superlative and substandard performances (3 for a win, 2 for ‘High’ and -2 for ‘Low) but we’ll roll with this scoring criteria for now:

Nothing really revelatory so far. Based on the performance numbers I might have to slightly upgrade Christoper Scott (two ‘High’ finishes) and downgrade Adrienne Cheatham (two ‘Low’ finishes). The only other contestant with two ‘High’ finishes is Season 15 favorite Fatima Ali. Interesting to note that Week 1 winner Tyler Anderson was a ‘Low’ finish in Week 2 and Week 2 winner Carrie Baird was a ‘Low’ finish in Week 1. Also of some interest– the contestant eliminated in Week 2, Claudette Zepeda-Wilkins, won in her first appearance on the web series ‘Last Chance Kitchen’. The season winner of ‘Last Chance Kitchen’ earns a spot in the ‘Top Chef’ finals–sort of like the second ring in a two ring battle royal.
